Are you an innovative Higher Level Teaching Assistant committed to improving the lives of pupils and young people?
We are looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our new Options Autism School - Claystone School in Luton. Bedfordshire. The school will have capacity for 48 pupils ages 4-11 years old and is due to open January 2025.
Our New Options School will cater for pupils who have ASC and Complex Needs.
Up to £24,000 per annum, depending on experience (not pro rata)
37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday
Term Time only
Permanent
January or April start date
About the role
The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with complex young people who have needs including neurodiversity, communication and sensory difficulties and associated complex needs who are keen to help us develop our nurturing approach towards helping our young people achieve successful outcomes.
The successful candidate will have experience of working with complex young people in an educational setting.
To form part of the senior support lead team and assist teachers in offering mentoring support, training and guidance to other Teaching Assistants
To lead and model positive behaviour management with proactive and solution focussed approaches
To contribute to the preparation and planning of lessons including developing resources and opportunities for young peoples to learn in school and out-of-school contexts in accordance with lesson plans and in response to young people need
To prepare and deliver lessons, under the direction of the teacher, including covering for teacher absence
To share the school’s responsibility to support and promote the learning, personal development, safeguarding and well-being of all young people
To ensure recording and reporting across the school is completed to a high standard

About the school
Our new Options Autism School - Claystone School in Luton, Bedfordshire will have capacity for 48 pupils ages 4-11 years old and will cater for pupils who have ASC and Complex Needs and is due to open January 2025.
