Job Title:                            Occupational Therapist

Location:                            Options Barton School Yorkshire

Contract:                            Permanent

Hours:                                30 hrs per week

Weeks:                               52 weeks per annum

Salary:                               £25,000 - £45,000 per annum, dependent on experience (pro rata)

Relocation Package:        £8,000

We are looking for an experinced or newly qualified  practitioner to join our clinical division as a Occupational Therapist. Working collaboratively with Barton School covering multiple sites across residential care and education in Yorkshire. The post holder will be responsible for the progression of our OT specific therapeutic services through working collaboratively to deliver bespoke assessment and intervention plans for our children and young people with developmental trauma, autism, ADHD, complex and SEMH needs.

About the role:

Based within our Yorkshire hub you will implement a holistic, therapeutic approach to helping our children and young people with complex needs in their daily lives, ensuring they are safe, comfortable, and healthy. Undertaking all aspects of Occupational Therapy clinical duties, you will adhere to professional and regulatory guidelines, carrying out individual assessments and interventions, and preparing relevant documentation, including writing reports. In addition you will provide information and training to staff, commissioners and other agencies, as required.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary wellbeing and therapeutic services team, demonstrating a holistic and integrated approach to care, education and clinical services. We are looking for a highly experienced practitioner who has a clear vision of how to deliver outstanding therapeutic services. This is a demanding and challenging role, which requires drive, resilience and the ability to gain consensus within your team.

Essential Criteria:

  • Recognised and relevant Occupational Therapist degree
  • Valid and up to date HCPC registration
  • Relevant post qualification Occupational Therapist experience, in the specific
  • Client group and multi-agency treatment and care
  • Experience of teaching, training and supervision of other Occupational Therapists
  • Experience of working in a range of settings e.g. CAHMS, LD
  • Experience of audit and research
  • Experience working with children and young people
  • Experience and qualification/s in sensory needs
  • Experience of working within an educational setting
  • Driving licence and access to vehicle  (Desirable)
