Full Job Description
Maths Tutor
This is a great opportunity to join 3Dimensions, Chardleigh House, part of Options Autism as a Maths Tutor
Through your knowledge and passion, you will have a real impact on the lives of our young people. Taking responsibility for their learning, you will motivate them, inspire them and help them develop the skills they need for an incredible future.
3 Dimensions is an approved independent special school providing education for 7-25yr-old pupils (at present cohort is 7-18yrs old). It is accredited by the National Autistic Society for the quality of its provision. Our service is in within easy reach of Chard, Axminster, Ilminster and Surrounding areas
The role
As a dynamic and motivated Maths Tutor, you already have a passion for making a difference in the lives of children and young people. In this role, you will have every opportunity to live up to this ambition, responding to the needs of individuals with autism, learning difficulties and complex needs, helping them flourish and thrive.
This is a great opportunity for a Math Tutor who is looking to continue their career in Education and is motivated to inspire learning in children with varied and complex needs. Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure, and you will be working in a school where we maintain a strong safeguarding culture, where pupils are listened to, respected and involved in as many decisions as possible.
Our class sizes are small, so you are able to create a nurturing learning environment designed around each individual’s needs, spending quality time with each pupil. You will observe, monitor and assess them, making sure their personal development and wellbeing are as important as the academic curriculum.
Who we are looking for
You will be a passionate Maths Tutor and a great communicator, as comfortable talking to children and young people with autism, learning difficulties and complex needs as you are with contributing to the schools vision and direction.
Our schools are unique environments, each one having its own special atmosphere and range of opportunities and resources. Our Tutors enjoy becoming part of their college ‘family’, exploring the potential of the building and environment and getting to know the brilliant young people in our care.
You will enjoy building these caring relationships as well as liaising with fellow professionals, whether they are colleagues in the same school or they work in the children’s previous educational establishments.
You will have excellent written English skills too, along with a passion for working in collaboration with other members of our multidisciplinary team, sharing information in both formal and informal situations.
