About us

Wessex Lodge School comprises of two main sites: Wessex Lodge School, the main school where classroom-based activities take place, the second site being Newmead Farm, located in Maiden Bradley and allows students the opportunity to explore subject paths which would otherwise not be available to them.

We have grown to support 40 students, aged 8 - 18 years old. Each student has individual needs based on developmental challenges, Social and Emotional Mental Health difficulties or Autism. We support them using individual plans and the THRIVE approach.  Wessex Lodge offers all students an individualised education to improve life outcomes.

As a Outdoor Education Support Worker, you will connect directly with the brilliant children and young people we care for, helping to make sure they get the very best from their education. Each individual has so much potential, and they will rely on you to guide their learning journeys.

You will facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.  Contribute to raising standards of student attainment and behaviour and share and support the School’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and skill growth and you will work off site with transitional students within the community and in residential homes and day placement homes.

This role is primarily based offsite within the community or young person's residence. A full UK manual driving license is essential for the role. Candidates must have experience of working with SEN/Trauma students.

The successful applicant will have experience and qualifications relevant to job role.
