Job Title: Science Teacher
Location: Longdon Park School, Egginton, Derbyshire
Salary: up to £35,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (Mon, Tues, Thurs & Fri 8.00-16.00 Wed 8.00-17.00)
Contract: Permanent, Term time only

About us
Longdon Park School opened in June 2015. We are a co-educational day school catering for pupils aged 7 to 18 with complex educational needs, communication difficulties and challenging behaviour primarily with a diagnosis of ASD. We provide a therapeutic, supportive and inclusive learning environment where our young people learn to accept responsibility for their actions, make positive decisions and display pro-social behaviour. We are committed to raising achievement and enabling pupils to recognise their potential and supporting them through a personalised, engaging curriculum. Our priority is to develop the foundation knowledge and skills required to make a manageable and smooth transition to the next life stage.
Longdon Park is going through an exciting period of growth which is why this position is now available.
For over 16 years Options Autism have provided care and education to pupils, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties. We are a leading provider of education for neurodivergent young people and young adults. About the role
- Support the Quality of Education Lead, implement and evaluate strategic improvement, operational and development plans that will enable the Science department to provide education and care suitable for the needs of all pupils and ensure the progressive improvement of the School.
- In conjunction with the Quality of Education Lead, implement and evaluate the Science timetable, curriculum and support programme that will ensure all boys are able to progress and achieve through learning and that the school sets and achieves clear outcomes for academic learning.
- Meet high standards of learning, professional development, behaviour and positive contribution to the school and its ethos.
- Work with the SENCo to ensure that effective systems for the recording, monitoring and review of progress are established and maintained to ensure the effective tracking of individual progress and the provision of Management Information to support organisational planning, quality management and inspection requirements
Experience:
- Experience of delivering Science to KS2, 3 & 4 pupils
Essential:
- QTS/QTLS status or equivalent
