Job Title: Assistant Headteacher - Personal Development and Careers
Location: Westbourne School, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum Depending upon experience
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm
Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Assistant Headteacher Personal Development to join our close-knit team at Westbourne School located in Sutton-in-Ashfield.
About the role
The Assistant Headteacher Personal Development has strategic leadership and implementation oversight of Personal Development across Key stage 2 to 5. The post holder has the responsibility to drive, lead, and quality assure the impact of staff work on Careers, Enrichment and PSHE. The post holder works in collaboration with the wider senior leadership team, to ensure an excellent pastoral provision across all subjects and year groups, where every pupil enjoys learning and is supported to be highly successful
Key Responsibilities:
- To assist the Headteacher in ensuring the achievement of the highest possible educational standards and attainment, through design and delivery of an outstanding, comprehensive and engaging personal development programme across the school.
- This will be achieved through the strategic and operational leadership of the core areas of:
- Careers and Work Experience
- Enrichment, Trips and Visits
- PSHE
- Pupil Voice
- Staff training on personal development
- As a senior leader, modelling outstanding practice in the classroom is paramount to the role.
- Visible leadership through school duties, behaviours support, stakeholder engagement
We are looking for a colleague who:
- Is positive and passionate about changing lives for the better
- Has a passion for delivering an excellent personal development provision to students with SEN across Years 5 to 12.
- Can motivate and coach staff to support them in pursuing outstanding practice
- Thinks creatively and looks for ways to engage learners of all levels
About the school
Westbourne School caters for pupils aged 11-18 and we are growing to 85 pupils across two sites. You will be responsible for planning and delivering various subjects across the curriculum. Differentiation and individualised learning strategies are vital skills required to meet the needs of all our pupils who will have had varying degrees of success in their educational lives.
