Job Title: IT Field Engineer
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum not pro rata (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Location: Home based - Travel to schools and office locations in the UK when required
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 08:30am - 16:30pm.

Job Purpose:
Provide 2nd/3rd line IT support across multiple sites in the South West, resolving incidents, service requests, and problems. Act as an escalation point for 1st/2nd line engineers, support infrastructure and applications, and assist with new technology rollouts.
What you'll do:
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, escalating where necessary.
- Act as first point of escalation for 1st/2nd line engineers and manage site relationships.
- Collaborate with IT Service Desk, Infrastructure, and Applications teams to improve services.
- Conduct root cause analysis and support remediation/prevention plans.
- Manage cyber and infrastructure P1 incidents.
- Configure/manage user accounts and permissions (AD, M365, Azure, Google Workspace).
- Support servers, networking (Cisco Meraki, Smoothwall, LAN/WAN), telephony, printers, and mobile devices (Jamf/InTune).
- Provide remote and on-site support across multiple locations.
- Contribute to knowledge base and service improvement.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, data protection, safeguarding, H&S, and equal opportunities.
What we're looking for:
- 3–5 years’ experience in 2nd/3rd line support or MSP environment.
- Strong knowledge of Windows server environments, desktop/server platforms, AD/M365/Azure/Google Workspace.
- Experience with cloud solutions, network technologies, security, and device management (Jamf/Intune).
- Troubleshooting hardware/software, scripting, and ITIL practices.
- Preferred: virtualization, VOIP/telephony, network management tools.
- Strong diagnostic, organisational, and customer service skills.
- Experience with service desk products and knowledge sharing.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage workload, and communicate effectively.
- Willingness to travel across UK sites and maintain professional qualifications.
