Job Title: Assistant Headteacher- Safeguarding and Pastoral Services
Location: Overton School, Ludlow, Shropshire
Salary: Up to £43,000 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am-4.30pm
Contract: Permanent, Term Time only
As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Assistant Headteacher to join our close-knit team at Overton School, part of Options Autism.
Who we are looking for
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and ambitious Assistant Headteacher who is passionate about high quality Safeguarding/Pastoral Provision. The role would involve working as part of our Senior Leadership Team to strategically lead and enhance our Safeguarding/Pastoral Provision to ensure high Safeguarding and Pastoral Services for all our students. This role would suit an experienced existing Assistant Headteacher looking for a new challenge or an outstanding and experienced middle leader who is looking for the next step in their career.
Job Purpose:
* Overseeing the school’s behaviour, attendance and pastoral support in line with the school vision.
* Support the senior leadership team in leading on the effective implementation of school policy of strategy.
* Support new pupils through transition into school, including monitoring and supporting those on transitional timetables.
* Oversee, promote and improve school attendance.
Duties – General:
* Work in accordance with the school’s statement of aims and values and implement strategies within policies.
* Liaise effectively with external agencies.
* Carry out the general and specific professional duties as set out in the current ‘School teachers pay and conditions’ document, QTS standards and school documentation for classroom teacher.
* To play a full part in the life of the school community, to support its vision and values and to encourage and ensure staff and students to follow this example.

Overton School provides specialist education for young people between the ages of 7 – 18.
A nurturing and therapeutic setting comprising of a special school for autistic individuals, learning disabilities and other complex needs.
