Are you an innovative Caretaker committed to improving the lives of pupils and young people?
We are looking for a Caretaker for our New Options School - Riseley Green School in Riseley, Berkshire. The school will have capacity for 60 pupils ages 4-16 years old and is due to open May 2025.
Our New Options School will cater for pupils who have ASC and Complex Needs.
£302,000 per annum,
Monday to Friday
Full Time - 52 Weeks Contract

We are looking for a responsible, hands-on Caretaker to join our fantastic team at our new Options School. As School Caretaker, you will help support our pupils and young people in their daily lives, by ensuring our sites are well maintained and equipped to meet their needs
For over 16 years Options Autism have provided care and education to pupils, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties. We are a leading provider of education for neurodivergent young people and young adults. Job Purpose
To manage and maintain the school premises ensuring they are clean, secure, safe and well maintained at all times.
Responsible for a wide range of duties and responsibilities connected with the fabric and grounds of the school.
Main Duties:
Locking and unlocking the buildings as required.
Setting up facilities such as chairs, tables, garden area etc.
Dealing efficiently with pre-planned maintenance, day to day establishment requirements and being reactive to problems that may arise.
Undertaking repairs to fixtures and fittings.
Ensuring all plant equipment is maintained to the required standards.
Grounds maintenance.
Assisting with the organisation of the school refurbishments.
Porterage around the school site.
Monitoring the premises for any hazards, carrying out repairs or reporting problems where necessary.
Ensuring that all stakeholders adhere to the school’s Health & Safety Policies and Procedures.
Essential:
Full driver’s licence.
Good Numeracy and Literacy skills.
Desirable:
Any additional qualifications pertinent to the job role.
