Hours: 42.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

About the role
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Design Technologies Technician to support the daily operations of our Design and Technology department. The successful candidate will assist in maintaining equipment, preparing materials, and providing technical support to students and staff. This role involves hands-on work with cutting-edge design tools and technologies, ensuring the smooth operation of the workshops, labs, and teaching spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support:
Assist teachers and students with the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of equipment in design and technology labs.
Provide guidance and support for projects involving 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC machinery, and other digital fabrication tools.
Ensure that equipment is properly maintained and in working order, performing regular checks, servicing, and troubleshooting as required.
This is to include oversight of IT equipment across all three sights.
Workspace Management:
Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization in the workshops, ensuring all tools and equipment are stored correctly.
Manage the inventory of materials and equipment, ensuring supplies are stocked and ordered in a timely manner.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, performing risk assessments and implementing safe working practices.
