If you really want to make your mark in a rapidly growing business that is committed to improving the lives of pupils and young people, we have the role for you!
We are looking for Bank Teaching Assistants who have a background in working with pupils and young people who present with challenging behaviours due to their additional needs. Experience in supporting pupils and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties would be ideal for the role and individuals with this experience would be suited to join our team at Maple Grove School in Chester.
About the School
Maple Grove is a newly opened school providing a specialist setting for learners with autism. We are situated in Hoole, Chester, with the school set within a beautiful, historic building that has been completely refurbished and redesigned to the highest standard.
At Maple Grove, everything we do revolves around the individual needs of each pupil attending our school, with the aim that every learner is able to fulfil their potential.
Along with our rich and varied curriculum, we focus on developing core life skills such as communication and social ability, sensory processing and emotional regulation; every pupil develops the essential capabilities they need to be as independent as possible when they leave school.
For over 16 years Options Autism have provided care and education to pupils, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties. As part of Outcomes First Group, we are leading our sector in setting and delivering new approaches that provide measurable outcomes for those in our care.
About the Role
Joining our dedicated team, you will support our teachers to provide high quality teaching of a range of subjects, and help ensure the effective delivery of the school’s curriculum. Colleagues at Maple Grove are encouraged to take a creative approach, seeking ways to positively engage with and motivate pupils through lessons that promote learning and raise levels of attainment.
The ideal candidate will successfully support pupils to develop key academic and personal skills, through the development of positive working relationships with pupils, and ongoing, effective communication with colleagues. Working under the direction of class and subject teachers, teaching assistants at Maple Grove give regular feedback and encourage our young people to develop the key self-regulation skills and social understanding they need in order to become as independent as possible. Our specialist curriculum and personalised learning objectives are key to the success of our pupils and as a Bank Teaching Assistant you will be a key part of the learning process.
Who we are looking for
You will be adaptable and ready to work in a variety of classroom roles, both indoors and outside according to individual need. Taking a responsive and caring approach, you may be running classroom activities, leading outdoor experiences or supervising pupils as they explore further afield.
Our schools are built on great teamwork and mutual support. If you enjoy working as part of a dedicated team, sharing knowledge, experience and learning, simply fill in our safeguarding-compliant application form and a member of our team will be in touch.
