Teaching Assistant
The role
Our Teaching Assistants are amazing people who make our unique schools and classrooms supportive, enriching places – where children and young people can achieve far more than they ever expected.
Teaching Assistants are at the heart of school life, preparing exciting, creative learning materials and running classroom activities, with plenty of hands-on work and some supervision too. They connect directly with the people we care for, keeping them comfortable, helping them feel safe, and making sure they get the very best from their education.
It’s often challenging, but we make sure our Teaching Assistants have all the support they need, with plenty of skills and experience to draw on along with advice and guidance too.
What makes a great Teaching Assistant?
We look for Teaching Assistants who are great all-rounders, and who relish getting stuck into school life – taking practical steps to run classroom activities while also having the confidence to take on supervisory roles.
We give our Teaching Assistants all the training they need, so previous experience isn’t essential. It’s more important to be motivated, compassionate, resilient and patient – these are qualities that will help you sparkle in this role.
