We have a fantastic opportunity for a Carer Recruitment Officer to join our team at NFA South West. You will be home based with travel covering Gloucestershire, Bristol, Somerset, Swindon, Wiltshire and Dorset, whilst attending the Warminster head office when required.  The focus of the role is to generate interest in fostering across the local community to help generate enquiries and will require coordination, engagement and recruitment of carers across the South West Region. You do not need experience of promoting fostering and recruiting foster carers but you do need a passion for helping the lives of children and young people.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Carer Recruitment Officer to help grow our family of foster carers. You will encourage and source enquiries through local engagement as well as undertake initial visits and gather information in relation to potential applicants.

The role is 25 hours per week, working a full day on Monday, Tuesday and Friday with a half day on Thursday. A high level of flexibility is also required to work evenings and weekends to meet the needs of the business.

The focus of the role is to promote fostering across the local community to help generate enquiries and will require coordination, engagement and recruitment of carers across the region.

You will be comfortable engaging with the public and existing foster carers, attending local events to raise awareness of fostering to help exceed the local recruitment target. You will be creating opportunities to engage with existing NFA South West carers to promote carer referrals. You will also collate evidence of local recruitment activity including carer referral activity and the subsequent outcomes to inform future strategy.

You will maintain contact with potential foster carers through the journey from enquiry to approval, supporting the screening, training and assessment process undertaken by your social work colleagues. You will work from home, managing the database of potential carers, and keeping colleagues and management updated with relevant information and weekly reporting.

Who we are looking for?

Customer service, recruitment or marketing experience would be an advantage however more important are strong communication skills, and a friendly and flexible approach which will be beneficial in enabling you to build rapport with members of the public, current and potential foster carers.

You must be proficient in basic excel database management and diary management, as well as demonstrating excellent spoken and written communication.
