Job Title: Senior/Highly Specialised Speech and Language Therapist

Location: Homebased/ Covering South London area

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum

Hours: 37.5 per week

Contract: Permanent, term time only

 

About the Role

We’re looking for a Highly Specialised Speech and Language Therapist to join our expanding team and support us grow our new clinical service across WPA and their education welfare service. This is a wide and varied role ideal for those looking for a new challenge where you can truly have an impact on shaping a service and driving change.

Our Clinical Team maintain a nurturing and loving environment where our children can flourish. Always putting our children and young people at the forefront of everything they do. All our settings maintain a strong safeguarding culture, and our children and young people are heard, respected and involved in decisions that affect them wherever possible.

You will hold a speech and language therapy caseload, contribute to staff training, complete clinical consultations and support reflective practice. Both a challenging and rewarding role, this position would suit a resilient and enthusiastic individual, with a therapeutic approach and the ability to make decisions, as well as manage their own workload.

The ideal candidate will hold a masters or doctoral professional qualification and HCPC registration. You’ll need to be resilient and have experience of working in with children and young people with SEN needs. You’ll need to be a good communicator with strong skills in assessment and report writing.

Location: Homebased/Regional – covering across South East London area.

Essential Criteria:

  • Recognised Speech & Language Therapy degree 
  • Valid and up to date HCPC Registration 
  • Registered member of RCSLT 
  • post qualification experience of working as a Therapist within an educational, adult learning disability or complex needs setting  
  • Experience within the specialist client group. (complex communication issues relating to autism, including language disorder sensory impairment, learning disabilities/difficulties and associated challenging behaviour) 
  • Experience of teaching, training and professional and clinical supervision 
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, complex, technical and clinically sensitive information to the specific client group, their carers and families and a wide range of professionals outside the service (from OT JD) 
  • Advanced knowledge of models of service delivery and an ability to articulate the value added by the speech and language service within the context of multidisciplinary work.  
  • Good time management and organisational skills  
  • Ability to work independently 
  • Driving licence and access to a vehicle
