Salary:                 £40,000 - £45,000 per annum

Contract:             Permanent

Hours:                 Monday to Friday

We are looking for a creative, experienced and open-minded Deputy Headteacher to join our family feel team at 3 Dimensions; a Special Educational Needs school. You must have a keen interest in encouraging and inspiring even the most challenging of minds and behaviours. We are looking for candidates, who want to get involved, have their ideas heard and who are resilient and caring.

As Deputy Headteacher, you will help lead on changes in the curriculum and grow a nurturing and therapeutic environment to meet a range of needs including Autism and any accompanying learning difficulties. You will help the school to be outstanding and a leading light for our young people and their families.

You will ensure there is a positive ethos, which reflects the school’s commitment to education including the encouragement of all staff and pupils to participate fully all aspects of school life. This essential role ensures that the children are taught a curriculum, which is relevant to the abilities and needs of the children in an effective learning environment full of good relationships and equal opportunities.

As Deputy Headteacher, you will work alongside our Education Manager and help lead a strong ethos of quality teaching, innovative and creative ideas and help lead the teaching staff, as well as curriculum development.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for an individual who is educated to degree level or equivalent with Qualified Teacher Status. Experience of working with and managing children with Autism and sometimes challenging behaviour is essential.

We are looking for someone who knows how to bring a creative and innovative approach to improving performance and support for our pupils and their families. An excellent communicator, you will become an ambassador for 3 Dimensions, as the role will include working in partnership with parents, local authorities and other stakeholders.

No two days at 3 Dimensions will be the same, so we are looking for a Deputy Headteacher who has a flexible working approach and can use their initiative. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with young people in a calm demeanour and focuses on the positive outcomes of our young people.

About the School

3 Dimensions School is an independent special day School, with an additional residential home on site for pupils aged 7-18 who have a Special Educations Needs and some with a diagnosis of Autism. Our dedicated team, work together to ensure successful outcomes for pupils who will often arrive at the school with a troubled view of education and life.

Our School is based in the beautiful countryside of Chard and has a bespoke curriculum designed for the needs of our children. There is a forest school on site and we are looking to expand into further vocational areas.

Essential Criteria

  • A degree or degree level equivalent qualification
  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Experience of working with children with learning disabilities and Autism
  • Current full driving licence
  • Experience of Leadership and management across a whole school setting
  • Extensive experience of curriculum design, implementation and quality assurance processes
