Job Title:             Wellbeing Intervention Support Worker

Location:             Reddish Hall School, Stockport

Salary:                 £17,900 per annum (actual)

Hours:                 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday 0800 - 1530

Contract:             Permanent; Term time only

Due to the growth and development of the school, we have an exciting opportunity for a Wellbeing Intervention Support Worker within Reddish Hall to work with our Year 12 & 13 Nurture students. About the School

Reddish Hall is an independent SEMH school situated in Stockport, based across two sites. The aim of the school is to encourage children to achieve and succeed personally, academically, socially and develop their self confidence that will enable them to cope in everyday situations and manage the transition from school to college or work environments. Purpose of the Job

To be a member of intervention team delivering and resourcing wellbeing interventions supporting pupils’ social emotional development and engagement in learning.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • To deliver Social, Emotional and Mental Health interventions to support the mental health and well-being of the pupils and to develop their own self-esteem and confidence
  • To deliver interventions to engage with a pupil to overcome their wellbeing barriers to learning
  • Provide emotional support in small groups and where necessary be assigned to individual pupils in and out of the classroom Manage group behaviour in line with the School Behaviour Policy
  • Respond to pupils’ needs in class and if necessary offer group/individual support as appropriate and if required source appropriate resources
  • Carry out observations and monitor the progress of children, including appropriate record keeping
  • Assist pupils with day-to-day tasks and support pupils with identified wellbeing needs
  • Plan, assess, record and prepare resources for interventions. Liaise with Wellbeing Team and SENCO
  • Assist the SENCO and Wellbeing Coordinator as required, in particular in relation to administrative duties
  • Monitor behaviour and wellbeing plans and liaise with Wellbeing Team. Assist children with their emotional regulation methods
  • Where appropriate liaise with parents / carers to gain information to connect the school support with their home life
  • Assist in supporting staff with pupil’s behaviour / wellbeing needs
  • Respond undirected to pupils’ emerging needs and if necessary without direction provide group/individual support and appropriate resources
  • Undertake training and attend relevant meetings within contracted hours as required to ensure CPD
  • Such other reasonable duties as the head teacher may, from time to time be required
