About role

We are delighted to have the opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and flexible Thrive Practitioner to join our friendly and dynamic team at Wessex Lodge School.

You will be required to deliver the highest quality of education, care and preparation for life for all students aged 8-18 years, both in our School and at our Therapeutic Farm in Maiden Bradley.  Furthermore, you must be able to contribute to the whole school’s planning of activities - with an emphasis on delivering the curriculum through the environment. The outdoors is a crucial part of the teaching and learning, so enthusiasm for working on a farm would also be most beneficial.

Having a keen interest in encouraging and inspiring even the most challenging of minds is a must and previous experience of working with students on the Autistic Spectrum, or young people with Special Educational Needs, or Specific Learning Difficulties would be advantageous; having fun through learning is vital for our students and an outside the box mentality is a plus.

Essential Criteria

  • Childhood or Adolescent Practitioner with current Licence to practise (evidence in application and to be brought to interview)
  • Experience of Right time and Reparative work with Thrive Approach (Interview question)
  • Sound underpinning knowledge of Thrive Approach (interview question)
  • Experience of working with Thrive Approach on a 1:1 basis and supporting whole school embedding (interview question)
  • Working knowledge of Thrive online (Interview question/task)
  • Sound understanding of ‘Ways of being’ with a child or young person (interview question)
