Job Title: Designated Safeguarding Lead
Location: Lamledge School, Shifnal
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week; Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

Are you an experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead committed to improving the lives of pupils and young people?
About the role
The successful applicant will take lead responsibility for safeguarding and pupil protection for the school. They will take part in strategy discussions and inter-agency meetings and contribute to the assessment of pupils.
They will advise and support other members of staff on pupil welfare and pupil protection matters and liaise with relevant agencies such as the local authority and police.
Some safeguarding activities may be delegated to deputies, although you will retain lead responsibility for the work of deputies and will ensure it is completed to the highest standard.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Refer cases of suspected abuse to the local authority pupil’s social care
- Support staff who make referrals to local authority pupil’s social care
- Refer cases to the Channel programme where there is a radicalisation concern
- Support staff who make referrals to the Channel programme
Essential:
- Experience in a Safeguarding role in education.
- Full UK Driving Licence

We are within a commutable distance of Telford, Dudley, Stourbridge, Shrewsbury, Stone, Walsall, Wolverhampton and surrounding towns.
