- £26,000 - £28,000 per annum depending on qualifications and experience (not pro rata)
- 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday
- 37.5 hours per week
- Permanent, Term Time only
About the role
As a SEN Tutor, your responsibilities will include teaching a range of subjects as necessary and ensure the effective delivery of the alternative education curriculum, ensuring high quality teaching and the effective use of resources to improve the standard of learning and achievement for all students. You will also work In consultation with the SLT undertake other identified areas of responsibility as needed to ensure effective delivery of the Alternative education curriculum. You would also be required to work with the wider service team to provide a safe, purposeful and welcoming environment for all staff, students, stakeholders and visitors.
The pupils we work with have a complex range of social, emotional, and additional needs, and supporting them appropriately is key.

Responsibilities
- To play a key role in the development of provision within Care First Alternative Further Education
- To work with schools, parents, key agencies and the young people with SEN to ensure effective transition and inclusion of students, including those with a diagnosis of ASD.
- To support the development of learning styles and appropriate teaching approaches, behaviour management, classroom strategies, resources and whole Alternative Further Education policies for young adults with complex needs.
- To support the SLT and Care First central team in the continued successful development of supporting young people with complex diagnoses such as ASD / Attachment Disorder within the Alternative Further Education environment
- To take responsibility for an area of the curriculum and/or progression pathway (including Vocational Learning, Independent Leaving, Academic Skills and Work-based learning)To contribute and deliver the wider Services enrichment and Personal, Social Education Programme through activities, tutorials and group sessions
- To work with Key partners in Care First central support in order to deliver and implement a multi-disciplinary approach to support individualised packages for young people with SEN.
Essential:
- Level 3 Award in Education and Training (Formally PTILLS)
- Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (formerly DTLLS)
- 4 or 5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), or equivalent, including English and math's 2 to 3 A levels, or equivalent
- Degree in a relevant subject for postgraduate study
