Job title: SEN Teacher (KS3 Nurture)
Location: The Tower School, Epping
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm
Contract: Permanent, Term Time only
Start Date: November 2024

This exciting opportunity has arisen in light of school growth. The successful candidate will develop and deliver a multi-sensory, nurture curriculum at KS3.
About the role
- Under the reasonable direction of the Head Teacher, carry out the professional duties of a school teacher as set out in the current School policies
- Uphold the professional code of the school
- Teach in accordance with the ethos, organisation and policies of the school as a fully committed member of the teaching team and as detailed in the specific duties and core standards below.
- To provide a high-quality education service for our students in accordance with Company policies, procedures and practices and the standards set by the Regulatory Body.
- As the SEN Teacher, you will have a focus on teaching a broad and balanced nurture curriculum to KS3. You may be asked to teach other subjects as directed by the Head Teacher, always with a focus of personalising, adapting and differentiating planning according to the student’s EHC plan.
Responsibilities
- To have an awareness of Autism or to have a willingness to learn about Autism and other learning needs, and to consistently apply this to teaching and learning
- To plan, deliver and teach individual students or small groups, in accordance with the School’s Curriculum framework and related policies
- To plan, adapt and personalise a multi-sensory curriculum for a KS3 nurture group
- To monitor, record and report on student progress
- To contribute to and help implement developments that relate to the School Development Plan
- To promote, in line with Company policies, the physical, educational and moral development of the students
- To contribute to the development and implementation of an environment and programme of learning for the individual student to ensure progression at an appropriate and satisfactory rate
About the school
The Tower School is an independent special day school for pupils ages 11 – 18 years who have a primary diagnosis of Autism. Our dedicated team work together to ensure successful outcomes for pupils who will often arrive at the school with a troubled view of education and life.
This opportunity is based in Epping, Essex, CM16 4BA and is located on Epping High Road within easy access of J26 of the M25 and Junction 5 of the M11. Epping is a lovely market town in Essex and just 17 miles (30km) from the centre of London. It is surrounded by Epping Forest and the River Roding and River Lea valleys. The school is just a 10-minute walk from Epping station on the London Undergrounds central line which will have you in London’s West End in under 50 minutes.
