Options Autism are currently hiring a Domestic Assistant in the Scunthorpe region!

Role: Domestic Assistant

Location: Roxby, Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire

Salary: £11,375.00 per annum (£12.50 per hour)

Hours: 17.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday 3.5 hours per day

Contract: Permanent, 52 weeks

We are looking for an Domestic Assistant to join our fantastic team at Roxby House, Scunthorpe

Job Purpose 

To provide the centre with a high level of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the building

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • To promote the good reputation of the Centre by cleaning all areas to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene
  • To ensure all equipment and chemicals are always used and handled correctly in accordance with manufacturer's instructions, COSHH regulations and health and safety legislation
  • Operate at all times in accordance with company policies and procedures, with particular reference to Safeguarding Whistleblowing, Complaints and Representations and Behaviour Policies.
  • To carry out daily and weekly routines together with any special cleaning duties as directed as necessary
  • To assist in the operation of laundry where necessary
  • To report any defects, damage, theft, breakages or hazards
  • To carry out all duties in a safe manner having regard for the health, safety and welfare of self, staff, the people we support and other persons on site

General Duties

  • Exercises vigilance in respect of Health and Safety and promptly report all hazards and/or remedying them where appropriate. Undertake all duties in a manner calculated to minimise or avoid unnecessary risks, personally or to others.
  • Reports issues and or/incidents in relation to members of the team and people we support that have arisen in the day promptly to the relevant line manager or appropriate person
  • Participate in team meetings, supervisions and annual reviews in accordance with Company policy and the standards set by the Regulatory Body
  • Work to promote the service as a valued, professional asset within its community and also to promote a culture that individuals and members of the team conduct themselves at all times in a manner that reinforces this image.
  • Ensure that all actions are in the interests of the people we support and the Company.
  • To work to and exhibit the values of the Company and maintain standards of behaviour in accordance with Company policies, procedures and practices.
  • To carry out any other reasonable and relevant duties as required by the organisation.

The Location

Options Autism are looking for an Adult Support Worker to join our teams in our Roxby House which  is a specialist service, rated CQC Outstanding, which offers high quality support and accommodation for adults with autism, complex needs and/or learning disabilities.   We currently have permanent full time roles available – Days or Nights.  An ideal role for those interested in supporting adults with varied and complex needs.

Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure.  Working in a support environment where we maintain a strong safeguarding culture, individuals are listened to, respected, and involved in as many decisions as possible.

We are based in Roxby, Near Scunthorpe and are within commutable distance of Scunthorpe, Brigg, Broughton, Winterton and surrounding villages and towns
