Role: Teaching Assistant
Location: Robins Way School, Amesbury, SP4 8JT
Salary: £20,906.25 per annum (not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

We now have a fantastic opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join our new Acorn Education school, Robins Way School located in Amesbury.
About the role
The Teaching Assistant will support pupils with learning and care needs, working closely with teachers to plan and deliver activities, and ensuring pupils have access to the curriculum. The successful applicant will provide individual and small group support, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs, and managing classroom behaviour.
- To support the class teacher and/or tutor to ensure that all relevant education policies and
- procedures are implemented in full
- To provide relevant and appropriate support to students, on an individual or group basis, in order to enable them to access the curriculum as independently as possible
- To promote, in line with Company policies, the physical, educational, and moral development of the students
- To ensure that the available equipment and resources are used, stored and maintained efficiently, reporting any maintenance issues to the appropriate staff
- To support the class teacher and/or tutor in organising the classroom, its resources, student groupings and displays to provide a stimulating learning situation appropriate for students with autistic spectrum disorder
Essential
- Grade C or equivalent, Maths & English
- Experience of work within an education setting
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication skills, verbal and written
- Ability to record information accurately
- Ability to deal with complex and challenging behaviour
- Ability to demonstrate empathy
- Basic IT skills
- Ability to lead and coordinate effectively

Robins Way School is a brand-new SEN school for pupils with complex needs including SEMH; a co-educational provision with entry from 5-11 years old.
