Job Title: Careers Instructor
Location: Maple Grove School, Chester, CH2 3HR
Salary: Up to £25,000.00 per annum (not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Careers Instructor to join our close-knit team at Maple Grove School, part of Options Autism.
About the role
The main duties of the Careers Instructor role are as follows:
- To take a leading role in delivering high-quality careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) across all key stages.
- To work under the guidance of SLT to raise awareness of career pathways, employability skills, and life beyond school for all pupils.
- To design, deliver, and review an inclusive and engaging careers programme tailored to the individual needs and aspirations of each pupil.
- To share and promote the school’s values and ethos, creating a nurturing and aspirational environment for career development.
Key Areas:
- To contribute to raising standards of pupil outcomes in careers-related knowledge, skills, and destinations.
- To monitor and support the teaching and learning of careers-related activities, lessons, and interventions in conjunction with the subject leaders.
- Under the direction of SLT, ensure the careers programme is implemented, tracked, and reviewed to assess its effectiveness and meet Gatsby Benchmarks.
- To have a clear understanding of post-16 and post-18 pathways including further education, apprenticeships, training, and employment.
- To introduce vocational experiences, workplace visits, employer encounters, and career-based enrichment opportunities including Aspirations Week on an annual basis.
- To organise and deliver tailored support for careers events such as work experience, mock interviews, and CV writing workshops.
- Liaise with the Senior Leadership Team and external partners to communicate the impact of the careers programme on pupil progression.
- To contribute to a whole-school approach to preparing pupils for adulthood and the world of work.
- To model professional standards at all times in line with Professional Standards for Teachers.
- To ensure the school website is regularly updated with current and relevant careers information and resources.
