Teaching Assistant

Full Job Description
How would you like to get paid for five days, but only work four?
At Outcomes First Group, we believe in better work/life balance — and we’re putting wellbeing first.
That’s why we’re proud to be part of a 4-Day Working Week (4DWW) trial, where you can work one day less each week (or equivalent hours), while still receiving your full-time pay.
Many of our schools have already introduced the 4DWW — and others are preparing to roll it out as soon as they reach full staffing. So, whether it’s already in place or just around the corner, now’s the perfect time to join #teamOFG.
Role: Teaching Assistant
Location: Miller House School, Leicester LE4 5LQ
Salary: £20,906.25 per annum (Not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday

About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with pupils who require additional support to access their education and develop socially, emotionally, and academically. You’ll play a key role in delivering creative learning experiences and helping students to overcome barriers to progress — both in and beyond the classroom.
We support pupils with varied and complex needs, and every day brings something new, rewarding, and inspiring. If you’re looking for a role where you can truly make a difference, this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.
Your day-to-day will involve:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support tailored to pupils’ individual needs
- Helping to prepare and deliver engaging learning activities under the guidance of teaching staff
- Supporting emotional, behavioural, and physical development, creating a safe and supportive space for learning
- Building positive, trusting relationships that help pupils gain confidence and feel understood
- Participating in outdoor learning experiences and educational activities beyond the classroom
- Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and colleagues to ensure consistent and holistic support
Whether you're assisting with academic work or simply being a steady, caring presence for a pupil having a tough day — your contribution will matter.
Who we are looking for
This role is ideal for someone who is:
- Compassionate, calm, and adaptable, even when things don’t go to plan
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, supporting a range of learning experiences
- A natural communicator and team player, able to build rapport with pupils and staff
- Passionate about inclusive education and supporting young people with SEN
- Eager to learn, grow, and take on new challenges in a dynamic school environment
Requirements:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
