About the Role

As our Exams Officer, you will lead the administration, organisation and day‑to‑day running of the school’s examination system. You’ll work closely with teachers, senior leaders, exam boards and invigilators to ensure every exam — from entries to results — is handled with accuracy, confidentiality and care.

This is a role for someone who enjoys responsibility, takes pride in getting things right, and can stay composed even when deadlines are tight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all exam entries, deadlines and communication with exam boards
  • Work with teaching staff to gather accurate entry information
  • Provide staff with key dates, timelines and updates throughout the year
  • Handle all correspondence from AQA, Edexcel, OCR and other awarding bodies
  • Ensure coursework is sent to moderators on time
  • Train, support and update invigilators, including annual checklist reviews
  • Review and update exam-related policies and procedures
  • Create the exam timetable, book rooms and share schedules with staff and students
  • Maintain secure storage and distribution of exam papers
  • Prepare exam rooms in line with regulations
  • Accompany exam inspectors and action any recommendations
  • Coordinate results day: prepare documents, collect results and contact students/families
  • Provide the Head Teacher with results data and statistics
  • Lead internal quality assurance for internally assessed work
  • Support the admin team when capacity allows
  • Attend relevant training and carry out additional tasks as required

What We’re Looking For

You’ll thrive in this role if you are:

  • Exceptionally organised and detail‑focused
  • Confident managing deadlines and multiple priorities
  • Able to communicate clearly with staff, students, parents and exam boards
  • Calm, reliable and professional at all times
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a wider admin team
  • A full driving licence holder

Experience in school administration or exams management is beneficial, but strong organisational skills and the right attitude are just as important.
