Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Wetheringsett Manor, Suffolk, IP14 5QX
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 8:15am-3:45pm
Salary: £22,160.62 per annum (not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: June 2026

About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant at Wetheringsett Manor, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with additional and complex needs to access learning and reach their full potential. Working closely with teachers and specialists, you will provide tailored one-to-one and small group support, helping to deliver engaging and creative learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom.
You will support pupils’ academic progress alongside their social, emotional, and behavioural development, creating a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where they can thrive. Building positive, trusting relationships will be at the heart of everything you do, helping pupils to grow in confidence and overcome barriers to learning.
What You’ll Do
- Provide 1:1 or small-group support for pupils with SEMH needs and/or Autism
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering activities that spark curiosity and progress
- Lead small group sessions and support one-to-one interventions
- Offer emotional, social, and practical support to pupils as they navigate school life
- Contribute to creating a safe, welcoming, and positive learning environment
- Support outdoor learning, enrichment activities, and personal development initiatives
Who We’re Looking For
We want someone who is:
- Patient, adaptable, and enthusiastic
- Experienced in working with children, ideally in a SEN or specialist setting
- A team player who communicates effectively and collaborates well with colleagues
- Committed to helping pupils overcome barriers and reach their potential
- Full UK Driving Licence
