Job Title: School administrator
Location: The Wenlock School, Dudley, West Midlands, DY1 3SB
Hours: 37.5 per week | Monday to Friday | Monday 8:15am - 4:30pm, Tuesday - Friday 8:15am - 3:45pm
Salary: £22,000 per annum (not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: September 2026

About the Role
As our School Administrator, you’ll be the first point of contact for pupils, parents, staff and visitors. You’ll provide high‑quality administrative support to the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, helping to keep our school running efficiently and professionally.
You’ll work both independently and as part of a small, supportive team, using your initiative to manage a wide range of tasks—from maintaining accurate pupil records to welcoming visitors and supporting essential school processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Headteacher, SLT and wider school team.
- Manage front‑of‑house duties including answering enquiries, handling calls, welcoming visitors and monitoring the school gate.
- Maintain accurate pupil records, including admissions, attendance and student information using iSAMS.
- Oversee general office tasks such as filing, post distribution, diary management and appointment booking.
- Process orders, invoices and financial paperwork in line with school procedures, including use of Focal Point.
- Liaise with transport providers and follow up on pupil arrival or transport‑related issues.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, confidentiality, data protection and all relevant school policies.
- Support the smooth running of the school by undertaking additional duties as required by the Headteacher or SLT
Who We’re Looking For
You’ll be a great fit if you are:
- Level 3 qualification required.
- Experience of working within a fast paced educational setting preferred.
- Confident using school systems (experience with iSAMS is an advantage).
- Warm, approachable and professional when dealing with pupils, families and visitors.
- Able to manage multiple tasks calmly in a busy environment.
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- A team player who can also work independently and use initiative.
