Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Acorn Park School, Banham, Norwich, NR16 2HU
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday–Friday | 8.30am - 4.30pm
Salary: £22,160.62 per annum (not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: September 2026

At Acorn Park School, we're looking for caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join our supportive team. You'll play a vital role in helping pupils with SEND and complex needs develop the confidence, skills and independence they need to thrive both in school and beyond.

What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting pupils with SEND and complex needs to access learning and achieve their individual goals.
- Working alongside teachers to deliver engaging, personalised learning experiences.
- Providing one-to-one and small group support across classroom, outdoor and enrichment activities.
- Supporting pupils' emotional wellbeing, behaviour and social development.
- Encouraging independence, communication and positive relationships.
- Helping create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
- Preparing resources and assisting with classroom activities and interventions.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, families and professionals to achieve the best outcomes for pupils.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Holds GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
- Is caring, patient and passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs.
- Builds positive, trusting relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
- Is resilient, adaptable and able to remain positive in a dynamic environment.
- Enjoys working as part of a collaborative and supportive team.
- Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Is flexible and enthusiastic about supporting learning in a variety of settings.
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
About Acorn Park School
Acorn Park School is an independent specialist school in rural Norfolk supporting autistic children and young people aged 4–19. Set within a spacious private estate, the school provides a safe, nurturing environment where pupils are placed at the heart of everything we do. Through personalised formal and semi-formal curriculum pathways, supported by an integrated clinical team, we meet a wide range of individual needs.
