Job Title: School Support Worker
Location: Reddish Hall School, Stockport, SK5 6UY
Hours: 37.5 per week | Monday to Friday | 8.00am – 4.00pm
Salary: £22,160.62 per annum (not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: September 2026

At Reddish Hall School, we're looking for a compassionate and motivated School Support Worker to join our dedicated team. This is more than a job – it's an opportunity to make a genuine difference every single day.
As a School Support Worker, you'll be at the heart of our school community, providing practical, emotional and educational support that enables young people to flourish. No two days are ever the same. One moment you could be supporting a pupil in the classroom to achieve a breakthrough in their learning, and the next you could be helping them navigate challenges, regulate emotions and build the confidence to engage positively with the world around them.
What you will be doing
- Implement Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) and provide tailored support for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Contribute to the school’s safeguarding culture by following all safeguarding policies and procedures
- Deliver structured learning activities and programmes, adjusting to student needs and providing feedback to teaching staff
- Support the use of ICT to develop students’ independence and digital competence
- Build constructive relationships with parents/carers and share relevant information with the wider staff team
- Promote inclusion, acceptance, and equal opportunities for all students
- Supervise students during transitions and unstructured times
- Assist in developing and applying behaviour management strategies
- Actively contribute to the ethos, aims, and overall work of the school
What you will bring
- Maths and English GCSE (Grade 4/C and above) or equivalent.
- A solid standard of English and Maths, along with experience supporting students in a school environment.
- Strong understanding of restorative and trauma‑informed practices, with the ability to promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- The ability to monitor and record student progress, wellbeing, and engagement accurately and professionally, following organisational procedures.
- A motivated, enthusiastic, and team‑focused approach, committed to helping students achieve their full potential and supporting the wider school ethos.
- Driving licence is required
