About the Role

Do you have a passion for helping young people overcome barriers, build confidence and achieve more than they ever thought possible?

At Crookhey Hall School, we're looking for an enthusiastic and caring Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated team on a maternity cover contract. This is your opportunity to become part of a welcoming school where every day brings the chance to make a genuine and lasting difference.

Working alongside talented teachers and a supportive multidisciplinary team, you'll help create a nurturing environment where pupils feel safe, valued and inspired to learn. No two days are the same—and every day you'll see the impact of your support.

What you’ll do:

  • Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, helping them access learning and achieve their individual goals.
  • Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging, personalised learning activities that inspire confidence and curiosity.
  • Encourage pupils' communication, independence, emotional wellbeing and social development.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships that help pupils feel safe, supported and ready to learn.
  • Prepare learning resources and help create an engaging, inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor pupil progress and contribute to reviews, observations and planning.
  • Support educational visits and, where required, assist with transporting pupils to enhance their learning experiences.
  • Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and positive behaviour, helping every pupil reach their full potential.

What we’re looking for:

We're looking for someone who is:

    • Passionate about supporting children and young people to succeed.
    • Patient, caring and resilient, with a positive and nurturing approach.
    • A confident team player who enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues and families.
    • Adaptable, proactive and able to respond to the individual needs of pupils.
    • Holds GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/Level 4 or equivalent).
    • Holds a full UK Driving Licence.
    • Experience supporting children or young people is desirable, but just as important is your enthusiasm, commitment and willingness to learn.
