About the Role

Are you looking for a teaching role where you can focus on what really matters—building relationships, inspiring young people and making a genuine difference every single day? At Stretton Shires School, we do things differently.

We're looking for passionate, creative and caring teachers to join our growing team and help transform the lives of autistic young people and those with learning disabilities and associated SEMH needs. Whether you're an experienced SEN teacher, an outstanding mainstream teacher looking for a fresh challenge, or have a Primary, EYFS or Secondary background, we'd love to hear from you.

This is your opportunity to rediscover the joy of teaching in a specialist setting where smaller class sizes, personalised learning and meaningful relationships allow every pupil—and every teacher—to thrive.

No two days are the same, but every day you'll leave knowing you've made a real difference.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons across informal, semi-formal and formal learning pathways.
  • Teach individuals and small classes, adapting your teaching to meet a wide range of learning styles and abilities.
  • Create a nurturing, structured and inspiring learning environment where pupils feel safe, valued and confident to succeed.
  • Monitor, assess and celebrate progress, using creative teaching approaches to help every pupil achieve their individual goals.
  • Develop and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs), behaviour support plans and personalised learning programmes.
  • Support pupils' social, emotional and personal development through positive, relationship-based practice.
  • Bring your ideas, interests and subject expertise to help shape an engaging and innovative curriculum.
  • Work collaboratively with families, therapists and a multidisciplinary team to deliver truly holistic support.

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS).
  • Passionate about helping every young person reach their full potential.
  • An experienced teacher from SEN, Primary, EYFS or Secondary education—we welcome applications from all backgrounds.
  • Creative, adaptable and able to tailor learning to meet individual needs.
  • A confident communicator who builds positive, trusting relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
  • Patient, resilient and committed to supporting young people with Autism, learning disabilities and SEMH needs.
  • Reflective and enthusiastic, with a genuine desire to continue developing professionally.
  • Holds a full UK driving licence.
