Job Title: Inclusion Manager
Location: Groveside School, Reading, RG2 7AY
Hours: 37.5 per week | Monday–Friday
Salary: £30,000 per annum (not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: September 2026

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced and compassionate Inclusion Manager to lead our safeguarding, pastoral care and inclusion strategies, ensuring every pupil has the support they need to thrive both academically and personally.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced pastoral or safeguarding professional who is passionate about improving outcomes for young people with additional needs. Working as part of our senior leadership team, you'll play a pivotal role in creating a nurturing, inclusive environment where pupils can build confidence, develop resilience and achieve their full potential.

What you will be doing
- Lead the school's safeguarding and pastoral strategies, promoting the welfare, safety and emotional wellbeing of every pupil.
- Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), managing safeguarding concerns, referrals, record keeping and multi-agency working.
- Support and coach staff to deliver high-quality pastoral care, positive behaviour support and inclusive classroom practice.
- Analyse behaviour, safeguarding and attendance data to identify trends and implement effective interventions.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, families, external agencies and colleagues to support successful outcomes.
- Lead staff training, contribute to policy development and champion equality, inclusion and anti-bullying initiatives across the school.
What you will bring
- Experienced in pastoral leadership, safeguarding or inclusion within an education setting.
- Knowledgeable about safeguarding legislation, child protection processes and multi-agency working.
- An excellent communicator who can build trusting relationships with pupils, families and professionals.
- Organised, resilient and confident managing multiple priorities while remaining calm under pressure.
- Skilled at analysing data to inform interventions and improve outcomes for young people.
- Passionate about inclusion, restorative approaches and supporting pupils with additional needs, including SEND
- Driving licence required
About Us
Groveside School is a Special Educational Needs School for Pupils 7 - 16 years old with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs. Our school opened in September 2024 and will cater for 60 pupils.
