Location:  Hemlock Stone School, Stapleford, Nottinghamshire, NG9 8GA
Hours:      37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday
Salary:      £22,160.62 per annum (not pro rata)
Contract:  Permanent | Term Time Only
Start:        September 2026

At Hemlock Stone School, we're looking for caring, enthusiastic and resilient Teaching Assistants to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a brand-new, purpose-built specialist school, supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and complex needs in an environment designed to help them thrive.

This is far more than a classroom support role. You'll become a trusted role model, helping pupils develop confidence, independence and life skills while celebrating every achievement, no matter how small.

Working alongside teachers, therapists and pastoral colleagues, you'll play an essential role in creating engaging learning experiences and supporting pupils to overcome barriers so they can reach their full potential.

What You'll Be Doing

• Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups to help them access learning and achieve their individual goals.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging, creative and personalised learning experiences.
• Encourage pupils' communication, independence, emotional wellbeing and social development.
• Provide consistent emotional, behavioural and practical support throughout the school day.
• Help create a calm, safe and nurturing learning environment where every pupil feels valued and supported.
• Support outdoor learning, enrichment activities and educational visits that develop confidence and life skills.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver the very best outcomes.
• Safeguard and promote the welfare of all children and young people.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who:

• Is caring, patient and passionate about supporting children and young people.
• Has an interest in Autism, neurodiversity and specialist education.
• Is resilient, positive and able to remain calm in challenging situations.
• Builds positive, trusting relationships with pupils and colleagues.
• Is flexible, adaptable and enjoys working in a dynamic environment.
• Is an excellent team player with a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
• Experience working with children or young people with additional needs is desirable but not essential—we're looking for the right attitude and values.

About Us

Hemlock Stone School in Stapleford, Nottinghamshire opened in March 2026, and caters for up to 66 pupils, providing a specialist learning environment for young people with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and Complex Needs.

For over 19 years, Options Autism has provided specialist care and education for children, young people, and adults with autism, complex needs, and learning difficulties.
