Job Title:   SEN Teacher
Location:   Norton College, Tewkesbury, GL20 8UQ
Hours:        37.5 hours per week | Monday–Friday | 8:30am - 4:00pm
Salary:       Up to £40,000 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)
Contract:  Permanent | Term Time Only
Start:         September 2026

What You'll Be Doing

• Plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons that enable every pupil to achieve their individual potential.
• Adapt teaching to meet a wide range of learning needs, ensuring every child can access the curriculum and experience success.
• Deliver one-to-one and small-group teaching, including outreach support where required.
• Create a calm, structured and inclusive classroom where pupils feel safe, valued and motivated to learn.
• Monitor, assess and celebrate progress, using assessment to shape personalised learning.
• Develop and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Behaviour Support Plans and personalised learning pathways.
• Build positive, trusting relationships that promote confidence, resilience and emotional wellbeing.
• Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists, families and external professionals to provide outstanding support for every pupil.
• Contribute to whole-school improvement and help create an inspiring learning environment.
• Safeguard and promote the welfare of all children and young people.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Is passionate about helping children and young people with SEND achieve their full potential.
• Delivers creative, engaging lessons that inspire confidence and a love of learning.
• Has experience teaching pupils with additional needs, or is keen to develop within specialist education.
• Can build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
• Is adaptable, resilient and solution-focused, with a calm and positive approach.
• Enjoys working collaboratively as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team.
• Is committed to safeguarding and delivering the very best outcomes for every pupil.
• Holds a Full UK Driving Licence (desirable to support outreach activities).
