Job Title: 1-1 Teaching Assistant
Location: Bluebank School, Whittington Moor, Derbyshire, S41 8LQ
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday–Friday | 8.30am - 4.00pm
Salary: £22,160.62 per annum (not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: September 2026

About the Role
At Bluebank School, we’re looking for a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide personalised support to a pupil with additional and complex needs.
This is more than a classroom support role. You’ll become a trusted and consistent presence in a young person’s school day, helping them overcome barriers, discover their strengths and develop the confidence, independence and skills they need for the future.
You’ll be part of a supportive team who will work alongside you, helping you develop your skills and giving you the opportunity to see the real difference your work makes.
What you will be doing
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support, helping a pupil access learning and work towards their individual goals.
- Build a positive, trusting relationship, providing consistency, encouragement and reassurance.
- Adapt activities and approaches to support the pupil’s communication, learning, emotional and social needs.
- Encourage independence, confidence, communication and positive engagement throughout the school day.
- Support the pupil across a variety of settings, including classroom learning, outdoor activities, enrichment and educational visits.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, families and other professionals to provide consistent, personalised support.
- Track progress, celebrate achievements and contribute to individual support plans and reviews.
