Senior FP&A Analyst / Finance Business Partner

About the Role

We're looking for a commercially minded Senior FP&A Analyst to join a growing organisation operating across a multi-site environment. This is a highly visible role where you'll partner with senior operational leaders, providing high-quality financial planning, analysis and reporting that supports strategic decision-making and drives business performance.

Working as a trusted Finance Business Partner, you'll combine strong analytical skills with the confidence to challenge, influence and support stakeholders across the business. You'll play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and continuous improvement, helping to deliver meaningful insights that support sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Performance

  • Lead the monthly financial reporting process for operational divisions, delivering timely, accurate and insightful analysis to senior stakeholders.
  • Analyse financial performance against budget and forecast, identifying key variances, trends and commercial risks.
  • Partner with operational leaders to understand business performance, providing challenge, support and financial guidance.
  • Produce meaningful KPI reporting and scorecards that enable informed commercial decision-making.
  • Present financial information in a clear and engaging way for senior leadership audiences.
  • Manage and resolve month-end financial queries, ensuring stakeholders receive prompt, accurate responses.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting, analysis and internal processes.
  • Work closely with Business Intelligence and Finance colleagues to enhance reporting through automation and improved systems.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead the annual budgeting process for your business areas, ensuring robust financial planning and adherence to agreed timelines.
  • Support wider budgeting and forecasting activities across multiple business functions.
  • Maintain and develop financial models to ensure consistency and accuracy across budgets, forecasts and KPI reporting.
  • Support ongoing improvements to budgeting, forecasting and reporting tools, including system-driven automation.

Business Partnering

  • Build trusted relationships with senior operational leaders and departmental stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary finance contact for your business areas, providing expert financial advice and support.
  • Deliver regular financial reports, dashboards and performance scorecards.
  • Improve financial understanding across operational teams through coaching, guidance and effective communication.
  • Promote a collaborative, proactive and commercially focused culture within the Finance team.

About You

You'll be a confident Finance professional who enjoys partnering with operational leaders and turning financial data into meaningful commercial insight.

You'll have:

  • A professional accounting qualification (or be actively studying towards ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics or a related discipline, or an AAT qualification.
  • Previous experience within Management Accounting, FP&A or Finance Business Partnering.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex data manipulation, modelling and financial analysis.
  • The ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders in a constructive way.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information simply.
  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical thinking.
  • Experience producing reports and presentations for senior management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

Experience with financial systems and reporting tools such as Power BI or ERP platforms would be advantageous but is not essential.

What You'll Bring

  • Commercial curiosity and a proactive mindset.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A collaborative approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • A passion for using financial insight to support better business decisions.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to develop their career within a growing organisation where they can have genuine influence on business performance and strategic decision-making.
