About the Role

Never Worked in a School? You Could Still Be Exactly Who We’re Looking For. You don’t need years of classroom experience to make a difference to a young person.

You might come from care, retail, hospitality, childcare, youth work, sports, coaching or customer service. You might be looking for a complete career change. Or perhaps you’ve always thought you’d be good at working with young people but haven’t known where to start.

At 3 Dimensions School, we’re looking for people with patience, resilience, energy and the ability to build genuine relationships. Previous Teaching Assistant experience is not required.

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll support pupils who may have faced barriers to learning or found traditional education challenging. You’ll become someone they can rely on, helping them build confidence, develop new skills and recognise just how much they are capable of achieving.

More Than Classroom Support

You’ll help pupils engage with learning, manage challenges and build the confidence to succeed.

  • Provide individual, small group and classroom support
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Support learning, emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour
  • Encourage independence, resilience and social development
  • Work alongside teachers to create engaging learning experiences
  • Celebrate progress and help pupils recognise their achievements

No Teaching Experience? That’s Okay.

We’re looking for the right person, not just the right CV.

You may come from care, retail, hospitality, childcare, youth work, customer service, sports or coaching, or you may simply be ready for a completely new career.

If you’re patient, resilient, good with people and know how to stay calm, encourage others and build trust, you could already have many of the skills needed to become a great Teaching Assistant.

What you will bring

  • A patient, caring and positive approach to working with young people
  • The ability to build strong and appropriate relationships
  • Resilience and the confidence to remain calm during challenging situations
  • Flexibility and creativity when something isn’t working and a different approach is needed
  • A willingness to learn and develop within the role
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team
  • A genuine desire to help children and young people build confidence and achieve their potential
  • A driving licence is required for this role
  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4 or C or above, or equivalent, would be desirable
