We’re always on the lookout for dedicated, caring people to add to our team. If you take pride in keeping buildings safe, welcoming and running smoothly, and you want your work to make a real difference to children and vulnerable adults, we’d love to hear from you.

At a school, maintenance isn’t just about fixing things. It’s about creating the day-to-day conditions where learning can thrive, where pupils feel safe, staff can focus on teaching and support, and residents can live comfortably and confidently. As a Site Maintenance Assistant in Stapleford, you’ll play a big part in helping children achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities

Day to day, you can expect a varied workload that keeps you busy and challenged. Typical responsibilities may include:

  • Carrying out routine maintenance across the school site, including planned checks and minor repairs

  • Supporting the upkeep of buildings and grounds, helping maintain a clean, well-presented environment
  • Assisting with the preparation of rooms and facilities for day-to-day use and school activities
  • Working with site processes for reporting, recording and prioritising tasks
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements, including safe working practices
  • Liaising with colleagues so maintenance needs are communicated clearly and addressed efficiently

No two days are the same. From quick fixes to longer-term improvements, you’ll be part of a team that takes pride in getting things right, safely, promptly and with care.

About You

  • Experience in a maintenance, facilities, caretaking or similar role (or strong hands-on skills gained in another setting)
  • A practical approach to troubleshooting and completing repairs
  • Good awareness of health and safety and safe systems of work
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
  • Good communication skills and a positive, service-focused attitude
