Position:  SEN Primary Teacher
Location: Tilewood School, Buckinghamshire, MK18 5AN
Salary:     Up to £45,000 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)
Hours:     40 hours per week | Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent | Term time only

What You'll Be Doing

•      Plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons for individuals and small groups, tailored to students' individual needs.
•      Create, review and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Behaviour Plans and personalised learning programmes.
•      Monitor, assess and celebrate pupil progress, maintaining accurate records and identifying next steps.
•      Foster a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that promotes confidence, independence and achievement.
•      Support pupils' emotional wellbeing, behaviour and personal development using nurturing and therapeutic approaches.
•      Work collaboratively with Learning Support Assistants, therapists, families and the wider multidisciplinary team.
•      Contribute to curriculum development, whole-school improvement and the continued growth of our brand-new school.
•      Safeguard and promote the welfare of every pupil, ensuring the highest standards of care, wellbeing and inclusion.

About You

•      Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
•      Has experience supporting children and young people with Autism, SEND, SEMH or other complex needs.
•      Is passionate about delivering creative, inclusive and personalised learning.
•      Builds positive, trusting relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
•      Is organised, reflective and committed to achieving the very best outcomes for every learner.
•      Is resilient, adaptable and excited by the opportunity to help establish a brand-new specialist school.
•      Is committed to ongoing professional development and evidence-informed practice.
•      Shares our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

About us

Tilewood School is an exciting new specialist provision within the Options Autism family, provisionally opening in April 2027. Located at the historic Tile House in rural Buckinghamshire, the school will provide education for up to 66 students aged 5 to 16 with autism and associated needs.

What makes Tilewood truly special is its environment. Set within extensive natural grounds, the school benefits from woodland, open green spaces, outdoor learning areas, a sports dome, all-weather sports facilities and dedicated life skills environments. We view our grounds as an extension of the classroom, offering meaningful opportunities for outdoor learning, exploration, sensory regulation, independence and personal growth throughout the year. Planned developments include sensory, horticultural and independence gardens that will further enrich the learning experience for our students.

For many autistic children, space, nature, quiet and the opportunity to learn beyond four walls are not simply desirable, they are essential. At Tilewood, we have created an environment where these elements are woven into daily life, supporting children to belong, thrive and aspire.
