Job Title: SEND Administrator
Location: Oak Tree School, Truro, TR4 9NH
Salary: £25,115.38 per annum (not pro rata)
Hours: 42.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 8am - 4.30pm
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: October 2026

About the Role

We’re looking for a dedicated, caring SEND Administrator to join our team in Truro. If you enjoy bringing order to busy days, communicating clearly, and supporting the people behind the support plans, this could be the role for you.

This is a meaningful administrative position where your work directly helps children and vulnerable adults receive the right help at the right time. You’ll play a vital part in keeping records accurate, helping documents reach the right people promptly, and supporting teams to focus on what matters most: delivering care, stability and progress.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting SEND provision by maintaining, updating and organising documentation in line with relevant policies and expectations.
• Co-ordinating paperwork and records, ensuring information is complete, current and securely stored.
• Managing referrals and information flows so the right documents are shared with the right people at the right time.
• Producing and maintaining reports and trackers, ensuring deadlines are met and actions are followed through.
• Preparing correspondence and supporting with meetings by collating relevant information and maintaining accurate logs.
• Responding to enquiries in a professional manner, signposting people appropriately and ensuring confidentiality is maintained.
• Supporting compliance by following internal procedures and maintaining audit-ready records.
• Using IT systems confidently to record information accurately and efficiently.

About You

• Organised and reliable, with a strong eye for accuracy and detail.
• Confident with administration, from managing documents to maintaining tidy, up-to-date records.
• Discreet and professional when handling sensitive information.
• Communicative, able to speak and write clearly with staff, families and external contacts where required.
• Supportive by nature, with an understanding of the importance of patience and empathy in care and education environments.
• Comfortable with changing priorities, adapting quickly while keeping quality high.

About Us

Oak Tree School in Truro has recently expanded and developed two new buildings and undergone a successful inspection from Ofsted allowing us to offer a wider age range of students from 5 – 18 years the opportunity to have the best education possible. Oak Tree School is a specialist SEMH provision positioned near the city of Truro in Cornwall. The school provides full-time specialist co-education for up to 135 students and young people aged 5 to 18 who experience social, emotional, mental health, communication difficulties and associated challenging behaviours. These students and young people often cannot cope, function or achieve within a mainstream environment. The aim is to provide a structured, nurturing approach, with students accessing a broad, balanced and engaging curriculum to meet their significant needs.

This opportunity is in Truro which is within commutable distance of Redruth, St Austell and surrounding areas.
