Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Fieldstone School, Devon, TQ13 7EP
Salary: £22,160.62 per annum (not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 8.30am - 4.30pm
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: October 2026

We're looking for a passionate and caring Learning Support Assistant to join our team at our Ashburton site. This is more than a support role. It's an opportunity to positively influence lives every single day.
You'll work alongside our teachers, therapists and pastoral teams to help students with Special Educational Needs build confidence, overcome challenges and celebrate meaningful achievements, both inside and outside the classroom. Whether it's helping a student engage in learning, develop friendships, regulate emotions or achieve a personal milestone, your support could be life-changing.

What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting students in lessons, helping them access learning and reach their individual goals.
- Delivering one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual needs.
- Building positive relationships that promote confidence, independence and wellbeing.
- Helping students develop social, emotional, communication and life skills.
- Supporting positive behaviour using nurturing and consistent approaches.
- Working closely with teachers and specialists to ensure every student receives the right support.
- Contributing to a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment where students can thrive.
What you will bring
- Has GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent.
- Is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs.
- Builds positive relationships through patience, empathy and consistency.
- Is adaptable, resilient and able to remain calm under pressure.
- Enjoys working as part of a supportive team.
- Holds basic IT skills and can maintain accurate records.
- Driving Licence
Experience within SEND, SEMH or education settings is desirable, but not essential. We value attitude, commitment and a genuine desire to make a difference above all else.

Fieldstone School is an independent day school supporting some of the most vulnerable young people in society aged 5–16 students who may struggle to access mainstream education for a variety of reasons. These can include behavioural, emotional, or educational challenges, difficulties associated with the autistic spectrum, sensory processing disorders, attachment difficulties, or experiences of trauma.
