Job Title: Science Teacher
Location: Hambrook School, Burgess Hill, West Sussex
Salary: Up to £42,000 - dependent on experience
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent, Full Time

We are looking for an experienced Science Teacher to join our fantastic team at New Options School - Hambrook School in Burgess Hill, West Sussex.
As a Science Teacher, you will take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of the school curriculum in a way that maximises pupil’s achievement and ability to develop.
This is a great opportunity for a Science Teacher who wants to spend less time on paperwork and more time developing creative learning opportunities for pupils with varied and complex needs. Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure and you will be working in a school where we maintain a strong safeguarding culture, where pupils are listened to, respected and involved in as many decisions as possible.

We are looking for a Science Teacher, experienced in teaching Key Stage 1 or 2, who shares our vision to build incredible futures by empowering vulnerable young people in the UK, to be happy and to make their way in the world.
Whilst previous experience of working in an SEN/ASC environment would be desirable, excellent teaching skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important.
Educated to degree level and/or of Qualified Teacher Status, you will be calm, engaging, resilient, and have an innovative style of teaching, motivated by helping every pupil to reach their potential.
About us
Our New Options School - Hambrook School is in Burgess Hill, West Sussex. Burgess Hill is just on the West Sussex side of the border and just across the county boundary of East Sussex. Brighton and Hove are a short drive and just northeast of Chichester. The A23 is the London-Brighton Trunk Road and runs to the west of the town.
Our new specialist school will cater for young people with complex communication needs, autism and associated learning and emotional needs and has the capacity for c60 students.
For over 16 years, Options Autism have provided care and education to pupils, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties. As part of Outcomes First Group, we are leading our sector in setting and delivering new approaches that provide measurable outcomes for those in our care.
Who we are looking for
You will be a passionate Teacher and a great communicator, as comfortable talking to pupils and young people as you are with contributing to the school’s vision and direction.
Our schools are unique environments, each one having its own special atmosphere and range of opportunities and resources. Our teachers enjoy becoming part of their school’s ‘family’, exploring the potential of the building and environment and getting to know the brilliant pupils and young people in our care.
You will enjoy building these caring relationships as well as liaising with fellow professionals, whether they are colleagues in the same school or they work in the pupils’ previous educational establishments.
You will have excellent written English skills, along with a passion for working in collaboration with other members of our multidisciplinary team, sharing information in both formal and informal situations.
UK QTS / QTLS is desirable.
