Role: Additional Responsibility - PSHE Lead
Location: Brookthorpe School, Gloucester
Salary: Uplift: £3,500.00 per annum
Purpose of Role
Brookthorpe Hall School is looking for a candidate to lead and develop the PSHE and Careers curriculum to prepare pupils for independence and post-16 destinations.
The curriculum will be delivered by the teaching team and there is an opportunity to work with small groups of pupils.
Responsibilities
- To lead and develop PHSE and Careers education for KS2/3/4 pupils that meets personalised plans and pathways
- To collate evidence of impact and present to line manager
- To encourage pupils in personal development, achievement and career destinations
- To support KS4 pupils’ post-16 options and destinations
- To support out of classroom activities as part of a broad and varied curriculum
- To ensure Child Protection and Safeguarding is of paramount importance
- Follow procedures for accident, illness, absconding and absence for pupils and to adhere to all school policies
- Contribute to any meetings that are called for the education and welfare of pupils
- Attend department, behaviour whole school staff meetings
- To conduct any reasonable duties as directed by the Head of Education or their representatives
This is a challenging role and you must be able to cope with stressful interpersonal situations whilst maintaining a high degree of professionalism.

Brookthorpe Hall School is a specialist provision providing full-time specialised co-education for young people aged 7 to 16 with a range of complex needs, communication difficulties and associated challenging behaviour. This may include social, emotional and mental health needs and also pupils who have been diagnosed with autism or demonstrate behaviours associated with autism.
For over 16 years Options Autism have provided care and education to pupils, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties.
