Job Title: SEN Secondary Teacher
Location: Brookthorpe Hall School, Gloucester
Salary: £36,925.00 - £42,200.00 per annum dependant on experience/qualifications
Hours: 40 hours per week; Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm
Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a SEN Secondary Teacher to join our close-knit team at Brookthorpe Hall School, part of Options Autism.
About the role
As a SEN Secondary Teacher, you will take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of KS3 and 4 curricula in ways that maximises pupil's achievement and ability to develop.
This is an exciting opportunity for a SEN Secondary Teacher who wants to spend less time on paperwork and more time developing creative learning opportunities for pupils with varied and complex needs. Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure, and you will be working in an environment where we maintain a strong safeguarding culture, where pupils are listened to, respected and involved in as many decisions as possible.

Whilst previous experience of working in an SEN/ASC environment would be desirable, excellent teaching skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important.
Key Skills Required:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status
- Have a background of teaching a range of subjects at Secondary Level, delivering teaching at a good or outstanding level
- Knowledge of current education issues in relation to terms of practise, process and curriculum
- Be experienced in or have an interest working within an SEN setting, supporting pupils with challenging behaviour (SEMH/ASD)

Brookthorpe Hall School is a specialist provision providing full-time specialised co-education for young people aged 7 to 16 with a range of complex needs, communication difficulties and associated challenging behaviour. This may include social, emotional and mental health needs and also pupils who have been diagnosed with autism or demonstrate behaviours associated with autism.
For over 16 years Options Autism have provided care and education to pupils, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties.
