Job Title: Catering Assistant
Location: Belmont Secondary School, Rawtenstall, BB4 6RX
Salary: £13,000.90 per annum (£13.25 per hour)
Hours: 22 hours per week | Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only
Start : December 2025

About the Role
This is much more than a kitchen role — it’s about contributing to pupils’ wellbeing and enjoyment of school life. You’ll support the Kitchen Manager in preparing and serving nutritious meals, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, and ensuring all dietary requirements are met.
You’ll also play a vital role in lunchtime supervision, helping create a safe, friendly, and welcoming dining environment. Your contribution ensures mealtimes run smoothly and enjoyably at both our Primary and Secondary schools, helping pupils feel supported, included, and happy.
Every day, you’ll see the difference you make — from encouraging healthy eating habits to fostering a positive, nurturing environment that pupils rely on.
Who We’re Looking For
- Relevant catering or hospitality qualifications, such as City & Guilds or NVQ
- Level 2 Food Safety Certificate
- Confidence and fluency in spoken English
- Friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic about working with children
- A team player who follows health and safety procedures and enjoys being part of a supportive school community

Belmont Secondary is an independent, specialist day school for boys 11 to 18, catering for pupils with a wide range of needs. Our dedicated team, work together to ensure successful outcomes for pupils who often arrive at the school with a troubled view of education and life.
