About the Role

If you’re looking for a role where you can genuinely change a young person’s life, this is it. At our school, Teaching Assistants aren’t just classroom support — they are steady, positive forces in a child’s world. They are the trusted adults who help pupils feel safe, understood and capable of achieving more than they ever thought possible.

This is a hands on rewarding role where no two days look the same. You’ll support pupils in the classroom, outdoors, during sensory breaks and enrichment activities — always with patience, empathy and a belief in their potential.

If you’re calm, caring and ready to be part of a team that lifts each other up, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting individual pupils or small groups with learning tasks
  • Helping pupils regulate emotions through positive relationships and predictable routines
  • Working closely with teachers to adapt activities and resources
  • Encouraging independence, social interaction and emotional resilience
  • Supporting outdoor learning, sensory breaks and enrichment sessions
  • Providing personal care or physical support where required
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Contributing to a calm, inclusive and purposeful learning environment

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • GCSE Grade C / 4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • A genuine interest in supporting pupils with SEMH and/or SEN needs
  • A calm, caring and proactive approach
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • A full driving licence

Highly Desirable

  • Experience working in an SEMH or specialist education setting
  • Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs
