Location: Home based- Travel to sites between North East, Yorkshire and Humber
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday–Friday
Salary: £25,000 per annum
Contract: Fixed Term 18 months - to perm post qualification | Full Time

About the Role
We are seeking an Apprentice Careers Advisor to deliver high‑quality, impartial careers information, advice and guidance to students in Years 7–13 across our North East, Yorkshire and Humber schools. Working from home with a self‑managed diary, you will support young people in exploring KS4, Post‑16 and Post‑18 pathways through 1‑2‑1 guidance sessions, group workshops and collaborative work with school staff.
Under the supervision of a Level 6 mentor, you will help students make informed decisions about their futures while contributing to a strong careers education programme. As part of Outcomes First Group, you will work within an inclusive environment supporting learners with autism and SEMH needs, ensuring they receive tailored, meaningful guidance. The role involves regional travel, occasional overnight stays and close partnership with families, carers and external agencies to ensure every young person has access to the opportunities and support they need to thrive.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Deliver meaningful, impartial careers guidance that raises aspirations and promotes equality of opportunity.
- Conduct 1‑2‑1 and small‑group student interviews, ensuring each young person has a clear transition or action plan.
- Provide information, advice and signposting on careers, education, training, housing, finance and wider support needs.
- Research pathways, labour market trends and support organisations to meet individual student needs.
- Deliver engaging group sessions or presentations on careers and personal development topics.
- Work collaboratively with families, carers and school staff to strengthen each student’s support network.
- Produce reports, statutory documentation and data returns as required.
- Support the planning and delivery of careers events, work experience programmes and careers education resources.
Essential experience & skills
- GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above (required for apprenticeship entry).
- Experience supporting young people with autism and/or SEMH needs.
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly to schools across the region.
- Flexibility for occasional overnight stays when required.
- Full, clean driving licence.
- Commitment to completing the funded Level 6 Diploma in Career Guidance and Advice.
- Confident communicator able to deliver sessions both in person and remotely.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a self‑directed diary.
