Position: Assistant Headteacher
Location: Tile House School, Buckinghamshire, MK18 5AN
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent | Term time only
Start: April 2027

About the Role
This is an incredible opportunity to become part of the founding leadership team at Tile House School, a brand-new specialist school opening in Buckinghamshire.
As Assistant Headteacher, you'll work alongside the Headteacher to help establish an outstanding specialist provision where children and young people with Autism and additional needs can flourish. Combining strategic leadership with approximately 70% teaching commitment, you'll lead by example, inspire colleagues and help shape the culture, curriculum and future of the school from day one.

What You'll Be Doing
- Support the Headteacher in establishing the vision, values and strategic direction of our brand-new specialist school.
- Lead by example through outstanding classroom practice, maintaining a significant teaching commitment while inspiring excellence across the school.
- Drive high-quality teaching, learning and curriculum development, ensuring every pupil achieves their full potential.
- Champion inclusive practice, ensuring pupils with SEND receive personalised, ambitious and engaging learning experiences.
- Lead and develop staff through coaching, performance management and high-quality professional development.
- Help embed effective systems, safeguarding practices and operational procedures that ensure the school runs safely and efficiently.
- Work collaboratively with families, local authorities and multidisciplinary professionals to secure the very best outcomes for pupils.
- Play a key role in whole-school improvement, helping shape the culture, standards and future success of Tile House School.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a PGCE (or equivalent teaching qualification). NPQH is desirable.
- Has leadership experience within a special or mainstream school and is ready to take the next step in their career.
- Is passionate about inclusive education and improving outcomes for children and young people with Autism and additional needs.
- Leads with integrity, professionalism and a genuine commitment to supporting pupils, colleagues and families.
- Is an excellent communicator who builds positive, respectful relationships across the whole school community.
- Is resilient, reflective and driven to achieve continuous improvement.
- Is committed to developing others through coaching, mentoring and collaborative leadership.
- Is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of every child.

Tile House School is a brand-new specialist school, part of Acorn Education, opening in April 2027. The school will provide a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for up to 72 pupils with SEMH needs.
