Position: SENCO
Location: Tile House School – Buckinghamshire, MK18 5AN
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent | Term time only
Start: April 2027

About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to join the founding team at Tile House School, a brand-new specialist school opening in Buckinghamshire.
As a key member of the school's leadership team, you will lead the strategic development of our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) provision, ensuring that every pupil is supported to achieve their full potential. You will work collaboratively with staff, families, external agencies, and the wider community to establish a culture where inclusion is at the heart of everything we do.
From designing systems and processes to developing high-quality interventions and supporting colleagues through coaching and professional development, you will have the opportunity to build an outstanding SEND provision that reflects the values and vision of our new school.
What you will be doing
- Lead and coordinate SEND provision across both sites, including EHCP processes, Annual Reviews, and compliance with the SEND Code of Practice.
- Track, monitor, and analyse pupil progress, overseeing baselining, screening, and targeted intervention programmes in literacy and numeracy.
- Organise and chair all ePEP meetings for looked after children, ensuring progress, compliance, and effective use of Pupil Premium Plus funding.
- Provide strategic leadership on SEND policy, Teaching & Learning development, and the graduated approach in collaboration with the Headteacher and therapy team.
- Maintain strong communication with parents, carers, staff, and external agencies, ensuring smooth transitions and accurate, up‑to‑date SEND records.
- Identify staff training needs and contribute to the school’s CPD plan, supporting high‑quality teaching and inclusive practice.
- Ensure learning environments, curriculum materials, and teaching approaches meet pupils’ needs and reflect their backgrounds and cultures.
- Contribute to whole‑school planning and reporting, including the SEN Information Report, Pupil Premium Plus impact statement, and the annual SEN improvement plan.
What We’re Looking For
- Highly knowledgeable about SEND legislation, statutory processes, and best practice
- An excellent communicator who builds trust with families and professionals
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage a varied workload with confidence
- Passionate about inclusive education and committed to improving outcomes for every learner
- Holds GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
