Position: Facilities Manager
Location: Tile House School – Buckinghamshire, MK18 5AN
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent | 52 Weeks
Start: January 2027

About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of the founding team at Tile House School, a brand-new specialist school opening in Buckinghamshire.
We're looking for an experienced, proactive and hands-on Facilities Manager to help create a safe, welcoming and inspiring environment where pupils and staff can thrive. As one of our first operational leaders, you'll play a vital role in establishing outstanding facilities from day one, helping shape the future of our new school.

What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and manage all aspects of the school's facilities, ensuring high standards across maintenance, housekeeping and site services.
- Carry out hands-on maintenance, repairs and caretaking duties, ensuring the school remains safe, secure and fully operational.
- Plan and coordinate responsive, preventative and planned maintenance programmes, working with contractors where required.
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, fire safety, COSHH and all statutory building regulations.
- Manage facilities budgets, procurement, contractors and suppliers to achieve excellent value for money.
- Conduct site inspections, risk assessments and compliance audits, maintaining accurate records.
- Lead, support and develop facilities staff while promoting a positive, collaborative team culture.
- Play a key role in preparing our brand-new school for opening and maintaining an exceptional environment for pupils, visitors and colleagues.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Holds GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
- Has proven experience managing facilities, maintenance or estates services, ideally within education, care or a similar environment.
- Enjoys a hands-on role and is confident carrying out general maintenance, repairs and decorating.
- Has excellent knowledge of Health & Safety, fire safety, COSHH and building compliance.
- Is an organised and supportive leader who can motivate teams and manage contractors effectively.
- Has excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
- Is proactive, reliable and takes pride in delivering high standards every day.
- Holds a full UK driving licence.
